Famville was built around two connected needs: helping parents find things to do with their kids nearby, and helping them find other families to do those things with. Beyond profile matching, the app surfaces local kids' events, workshops, and family-friendly places in Düsseldorf and surrounding cities like Meerbusch, Ratingen, and Neuss, and lets parents host their own events, from birthdays to workshops, with RSVP management built in. Tibicle designed and developed Famville as a mobile-first social platform, with kid profiles, interest and location-based matching, messaging, and event discovery and hosting working together so families can go from finding an activity or a match to actually meeting up.

The Challenges

Making Family Connections Easy to Find and Safe to Trust

Generic social apps weren't built for parenting. Without age-matched discovery, a way to turn matches into meetups, support for multiple kids' profiles, or real safety controls, parents were left piecing together family connections from scattered, disconnected sources.

No Age- or Interest-Matched Discovery

Generic parenting or social apps don't account for how well two kids' ages or a family's interests actually line up, leaving parents to sift through irrelevant profiles.

Disconnected From Real-World Meetups:

Finding a match online doesn't help if there's no easy way to turn that connection into an actual playdate or outing.

Managing Multiple Kids' Profiles Is Clunky:

Families with more than one child need each kid's age, gender, and language represented separately, which most platforms aren't built to handle cleanly.

Safety and Trust Concerns:

Parents connecting with unfamiliar families need control over who can reach them and their children, including the ability to block and manage unwanted contact.

Parents had to piece together kids' events, workshops, and family-friendly places from scattered sources, with no single place to discover what's happening nearby.

Even after finding a good match, parents had no built-in way to align on availability, RSVP to a meetup, or plan around their kids' routines, leaving coordination to happen outside the app entirely.

Parents can add a profile for each of their kids individually, capturing age, gender, and language spoken, so matching reflects the real makeup of the family rather than a single generic profile.
